Our first “gig” was played in a top floor apartment in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, DC. That was 2003. We started as a four-piece. In 2008, Andrew, Tracy, Bill and Ben recorded “Chemical Smile”, a collection of 10 original eclectic Blue Pinto tunes, which we think is a pretty damn good debut for this garage band. The Blue Pinto track (where we got our name) was played, believe it or not, on National Public Radio’s “Car Talk”. We’re now a three-piece band (Bill, Tracy, Ben), writing new tunes in a stronger indie rock and pop direction, and our 2011 recording “Tragic” captures the current sound of the band. More recordings are on the way! We mostly play in and around the DC area. Along with our originals we cover songs from bands like The Tragically Hip, The Church and Eels.
